Samsung Galaxy SIII allows the user to send or receive multimedia message. This type of message will allow you to send or receive message contains picture, sound files, contact files, etc. If you receive MMS with contact files inside, then you can save the contact to your phonebook with ease.

Below are the complete steps to share contact through the Contacts apps:
  1. Go to Apps through Home screen.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Tap Contact tab.
  4. Tap the required contacts you wish to share.
  5. Tap the Menu key.
  6. On pop up menu select Share namecard via.
  7. Tap Messaging.
  8. Now the contact file was attached in the message as .vcf file.
  9. Enter the recipient number or you can tap on the Contact icon to find the required number you want.
  10. Here you can also type your own message in the Enter messages field.
  11. Tap Send button to send the message.

For the record, if you share contacts use this methods, the data charges may apply depending on your network provider.

How to wipe or factory data reset remotely using Samsung Dive?
As your note, doing these steps will delete the data, so do it at your own risk. Well, below are the complete steps to do:
  • On your PC or laptop, open Internet Browser then navigate to the samsungdive.com.
  • Login using your Samsung account associated with your device.
  • Click Wipe my mobile.
  • To wipe the phone go to the step #4 and to do factory data reset go to the step #5.
  • Click Wipe the removable storage then choose which the removable storage you wish to wiped. You can choose external memory or SIM card or both of them.
  • Click Factory data reset to delete all saved data in the phone. You should note that doing this will make you no longer be able using Samsung Dive to wipe the removable storage, and all deleted data cannot be recovered.
  • Tick the box next to I agree to terms and conditions.
  • Type the password in the password field then click Wipe button to start the process.

For the record, if you choose to wipe the storage then all the data saved inside them will be permanently deleted, while if you choose to factory data reset function then all the data on your phone will be permanently deleted and you'll no longer be able to use the Find My Mobile services with your phone.
By knowing these steps, now you can choose which the methods do you like best, update automatically all the apps or a certain apps.

Clearing of  Applications Cache and Data

Everybody should be agree that Samsung Galaxy SIII is a great Android-based smartphone that comes with lot of abilities and features. But, it doesn't mean that this phone will not experience the problem. The phone's uses and its age surely will lower its performance. Luckily, there are some methods that you can do to tweak this phone to be feels faster, such as using SwypePad or replace the default launcher, etc.


The same thing also could happen with the application you already installed. If you feels the application runs more slower and heavier than usual when you use it, then you can tweak it by clearing the applications cache and/or data to make the application runs as fast as usual.

  • Go to Settings.
  • Tap Applications manager.
  • Find the application you wish to clear its cache and/or data by swiping the screen to appropriate screen: Downloaded, Running or All.
  • Tap the desired apps.
  • Tap Clear cache button then tap OK button to confirm clearing the applications cache.
  • Tap Clear data button then tap OK button to confirm clearing the applications data.
  • Tap Home button to return to the standby mode.

For the record, if you clearing the data of certain apps then any data stored in that app will lost, such as settings, login information, and saved games. So, if the problem was solved by clearing the cache, then you don't need to perform clearing the applications data

How to Fix Background Color Changed in Email Apps

One way that you can do to save more battery life is by enabling power saving option. You can find four options available under this option, all of them are there to helps your phone save as much as possible the battery life.


Unfortunately, enabling power saving may result in less power to consume by the device that sometimes caused the phone not to work as your expectations. One of which is you may find the background color in Email apps arbitrarily is changed, either black background or white background.


How to solve background color changed in Email apps?

  • Go to Settings.
  • Tap Power saving.
  • Disable the Background colour option. When the box next to this option is unchecked means this option is turned off.

One of which is this phone has provide some features to make the user more faster and easier when make a calls.

1. Direct Call
Direct call is one of the motion-based features inside this phone. By enabling this features, you can easily calls the phone number displayed on your phone's screen by holding the phone near your ear.

2. Speed Dial
Assigning some contacts to a speed dialing key of course will be able to facilitate you when you wants to make a calls. Simply by assigning the required contacts to a speed dialing key, then in further use you just need to tap the required speed dialing key on the Phone apps then the phone will automatically calls the contacts assigned on that key.

3. Easy Call
You can easily make a calls while you on contacts apps use the easy call feature. Simply by swiping the required contacts from left to the right, then the phone will automatically calls the contact.


Well, these are three features available on this phone which will be able to make you more easier or even faster to make a calls.

One of the way to communicate with others is by making a calls or send a message through the phone. To do so, first you need to know the phone numbers of the people you want to call or send a message with. Once you know the numbers, you can add them into your contacts apps to facilitate you for further use. Luckily, you can add the contact number to your contacts apps easily on Samsung Galaxy SIII.

As time goes by, you may found that you already saved lot of numbers on your contacts. This sometimes bring a little difficulties to you when you wants to make a calls or send a message to certain contacts. To help you solve this problem, add shortcuts for a certain contacts on Home screen is one of the alternative solution that you can do.

  • Find Contact 1x1 widget by swiping the screen to the left or to the right.
  • Tap and Hold to move it to the Home screen.
  • Choose the required contacts you wish to add the shortcuts.
  • Finish. The shortcuts of the selected contacts has been created on the Home screen.

Once you've finished do these steps, now you can access the contact you already added by tapping the shortcuts on the Home screen. 

Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Access Applications

Previously, I've written about some possible ways that you can do to make you more faster and easier accessing installed application on your Samsung Galaxy SIII.

Now, I'll write about the basic steps to do to access application in this phone. Well, accessing installed application, either the stock application or not is a basic knowledge about using Samsung Galaxy SIII. For some of you may have known well about it, but for some another it may something new or little bit difficult for them to do.


How to access installed apps?
Here are the steps to do so:
  • From your Home screen, tap Apps icon to access the application list. This icon usually located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • Swipe the screen to the right or to the left to go to another applications list screen, or you can go to another screen by tapping the dots at the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap the application you wish to use.
  • Tap the Back key to return to the previous screen or tap Home key to return to the Home screen.
  • To access recently used apps, tap and hold the Home key then tap the required apps to access them.

Due to this is a basic steps, then I'll dedicate this post specifically for those of you who are still new with this phone. 

 Ways to Make You More Easier and Faster Accessing the Applications

Samsung Galaxy SIII comes with several pre-loaded applications to meet the basic need of using this phone, such as Messaging apps that you can use to send and receive text or multimedia message, Gmail apps to send or receive email message through your Gmail account, Contacts apps to save your contacts and customize them, Phone apps to make a voice or video call, and many more.

Here you can also downloading and installing another apps according to your needs through the Google Play Store or Samsung Apps Store. Moreover you can also installing apps from another source aside from both of the official market.

Many choices of the apps available, sometimes makes you end up with installing many apps on your phone. Even though, in fact you just use some of them, and the other is not. Instead of uninstall the apps, here are 3 ways that you can do to make you more faster and easier accessing your favourites apps:

1. Add the shortcut of the apps to the Home screen.
Adding your favourites apps shortcut on Home screen of course will make you more easier and faster to access the apps. You don't need to go to the application list, simply tapping the apps shortcut on the Home screen and the apps will launch.

2. Change the default app on the bottom dock of the Home screen.
By default, there are usually four icon of the most frequently used apps available in the bottom of the Home screen. If you don't want one of them to be there, then you can delete it and use the blank spot there to add the new apps that you wish to be there.

3. Change the default apps shortcuts on lock screen.
As with the default apps in the bottom of the Home screen, you can also do this with the apps icon on the lock screen. You can change one or more of them with your favourites apps. By doing this, you can access your favourites apps easily even when your phone is locked.


Well, these three methods surely will be able to facilitate you accessing your favourites apps. And this will also save you more time because by using these methods you will be able to skip some steps while accessing the apps. 

How to Add Shortcut Per Email Account on Home Screen

One of the ability owned by the Samsung Galaxy SIII is handling multiple email accounts, or in other words you can add several email accounts in this phone. You can also set one of them as the default email account that will be use by default to write an email.


As with the apps and widget, you can also create the shortcut for each your email account to the Home screen to make you more faster and easier when you want to access them. You can do this by utilizing email account widget.


How to create shortcut for each email account on Home screen?
Before you do this steps, make sure you have space enough on your Home screen that you'll use to add the widget. Well, here are the complete steps to do:
  • Long tap on your Home screen.
  • On pop up menu select Add to Home screen.
  • Tap Widget tab.
  • Find Email account 1x1 widget by swiping the screen to the left or to the right, then tap and hold to move it to the Home screen.
  • Now you'll see a list of your email accounts.
  • Tap the required email account you wish to add the shortcut.
  • Finish. the shortcut to an email account has been added to the Home screen.
  • To add more shortcut for another email account, you can repeat from the step #1.

It's easy, right? Adding shortcuts for each email account will of course be able to facilitate you accessing them directly through the Home screen. Also it will save you more time because now you just need to tap the required email account shortcut on Home screen when you want to access them. 

 How to Add Website Shortcut on Home Screen

Bookmarks your favourite or most visited website is one of the way that you can do to make you more faster and easier when you want to visit them. By doing this, you don't need to enter the URL each time you want to access them, you just need to tap Bookmark icon then choose which the bookmarked website you wish to visit.


One more way to make you more easier and faster accessing the bookmarked website is by adding the shortcut to them in the Home screen. This of course will save your time, because you just need to tap the shortcuts on the Home screen to visit them without having to open the Browser apps first.


How to add shortcut to a website on Home screen?
To do so kindly follow the steps listed below:
  • Long tap on the Home screen.
  • On pop up menu select Add to Home screen.
  • Tap Widget tab.
  • Find Bookmark 1x1 widget, then tap and hold to move it on your Home screen.
  • Now you'll see thumbnails of the bookmarked website.
  • Choose which bookmarked website you wish to add its shortcuts.
  • Finish. The shortcuts of your selected bookmarked website has been created on the Home screen.
Once you've done these steps, now you can easily accessing your favourites website by tapping the shortcuts on the Home screen then it will load the site in the Browser apps. For the record, make sure you have space enough on your Home screen before you add the widget.

How to Make the Browser to Load or Not the Flash on the Web

One way to do to enable you viewing flash-based website is by installing Adobe Flash Player on your Samsung Galaxy SIII. Even though nowadays Adobe Flash Player is no longer available on Google Play Store, you still be able to install it from another source. First, you need to allow your phone to install from unknown source to do so.


once you've finished installing it on your phone, now you can viewing website contains with flash through the Browser apps. But, you should remember that load the flash on the web may cost you more data. Fortunately, there is an option in the stock browser apps which will allow you to make the browser to load the flash or not.

How to customize plug-ins settings on Browser apps?
Below are the complete steps to do:
  • Open the Browser apps.
  • Tap the Menu key then select Settings.
  • Tap Advanced.
  • Tap Enable plug-ins.
  • Now you'll see three options available on pop up menu, they are:
    • Always on: choose this option to allow the browser load flash on the web.
    • On demand: choose this option if you want to decide which the flash content on the web you wish to load.
    • Off: choose this option to make the browser not to load flash on the web.
  • Tap the required enable plug-ins option you wish to use. When the dot indicator next to the option shows green means the option is selected.
  • Tap the Back key to return to the browser page.

By knowing how to change plug-ins settings on the Browser apps, now you can set it according to your needs. When your priority is a better experience while viewing the web then you can set it to always on, but if you have no problem to view the web without load the flash and want to save more data, then you can set it to on demand or turn it off.

How to Make the Weather Widget to Auto Update

Accu weather is the stock weather widget that you can find in the primary Home screen on Samsung Galaxy SIII. This widget will provide you information about the temperature and weather forecast on your location. For the personal need, you can change the preferred temperature unit you wish to use, either Celsius or Fahrenheit.


In addition to change the temperature unit, in this widget you can also determine how often the widget to refresh the information. There are several auto refresh option that you can choose which best suit you.


How to change weather widget auto refresh?
Below are the steps you need to do to determine the frequency of the weather widget updating the information:
  • Tap the Weather widget on your Home screen.
  • Tap the Menu key then select Settings.
  • Tap Widgets.
  • Tap Auto refresh.
  • Now you'll see some option available on pop up menu, they are:
    • None
    • Every 1 hour: choose this option to make your weather widget refreshing the information for every one hour.
    • Every 3 hours: choose this option to make your weather widget refreshing the information for every 3 hours.
    • Every 6 hours: choose this option to make your weather widget refreshing the information for every 6 hours.
    • Every 12 hours: choose this option to make your weather widget refreshing the information for every 12 hours.
    • Every 24 hours: choose this option to make your weather widget refreshing the information for every 24 hours.
  • Tap the required auto refresh option you wish to use. When the dot indicator next the option shows green means the option is selected.
  • Tap Home button to return to the standby mode.
You can also manually refresh the weather widget by tapping the auto refresh icon located at the bottom right corner of this widget. Also, you should remember that the frequency of auto refresh weather widget may cost some data plan. 

 How to Change Weather Widget from Celsius to Fahrenheit

When you first turn on your Samsung Galaxy SIII, generally you'll find the stock weather widget was installed on your primary Home screen. You can use this widget to obtain the information about temperature and weather forecast on your current location. But, first of all you need to enable location services on your phone to make this widget works.

As another apps and widgets installed in this phone, you can also customize this Accu weather widget to suit your needs, such as change the preferred temperature unit from Celsius to Fahrenheit or vice versa.

How to change weather widget from Celsius to Fahrenheit or Fahrenheit to Celsius?
Below are the complete steps to do:
  • On your primary Home screen, tap Accu weather widget.
  • Tap the Menu key then select Settings.
  • Tap General.
  • Tap Unit.
  • Depending on your current settings, tap Unit to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit or vice versa. When the dot indicator next the option shows green means the option is selected.
  • Tap Home button to return to the standby mode.

Some countries use Celsius to explain the temperature and the other countries use Fahrenheit.

 Removing of  Password Protection when Purchasing on Google Play Store

Enable password on the Google Play Store settings is one of the way that you can do to prevent unwanted or accidentally purchases because whenever you'll made a purchase you'll be prompted to enter your Google password. This also will avoid unauthorized people purchasing through your device.

However, for some reason you may want to purchase through Play store without having to enter your Google password. If so, you can turn off the password easily from the Play Store settings or when you're purchasing something from there.


How to disable use password for Google Play Store purchases?
You can do this on your Samsung Galaxy SIII by using one of the steps listed below:
I. From the Play Store settings
  1. Go to Apps through Home screen.
  2. Scroll to Play Store, then tap it.
  3. Tap the Menu key, then select Settings.
  4. Under User control section, remove the tick on the box next to the Password option to disable it.
  5. Enter your Google password associated with your device, then tap OK button to confirm removing password protection.

By enabling this option, now whenever anyone who will made purchase from Google Play Store through your device will be asked to enter the password. This of course will help you to prevent unwanted purchases, moreover if your device often used by your children or another who potentially made purchases or in-app purchases while they use the device to play the game or do something else.

How to Sharing of  Selected Text in the Web Page

Web search is one of the option available when you're selecting text in the web. By using this option you can search whatever the text selected directly from the web, and you will find the search result be displayed in the default search engine page.


While you selecting text in the web, you can also find another option available called Share. This option will allow you to share the highlighted text in the web to another device through several ways, such as via Bluetooth, Email, Gmail, Messaging or Wi-Fi Direct.

How to Share highlighted text in the web page?
If you wants to share text in the stock Browser apps in Samsung Galaxy SIII to another device by using some options available there, then below are the steps you need to do:
  • Open the stock Browser apps.
  • Navigate to the required web page.
  • Tap and hold the text until the text select is shown. You can adjust the text selected area by tapping and drag one of the anchor points at the selected text. The text selected will be highlighted.
  • Tap Share icon at the top area of the display.
  • Now, you'll see some options available to share, such as:
    • Bluetooth: choose this option to share the selected text to another Bluetooth-capable device. Make sure both of the devices to enable the Bluetooth to do so.
    • Email: choose this option to share the selected text via Email. This will copying the selected text to a new email message in the Email apps. When you have multiple email accounts, then you will be asked to choose which the account you want to send the email with. But, if you've already set the default email account, then it will automatically use this account to send the email with.
    • Gmail: choose this option to share the selected text via Gmail. This will copying the text selected to a new email message in the Gmail apps.
    • Messaging: choose this option to share the selected text via messaging. This will copying the text selected to a new text message in the Messaging apps.
    • Wi-Fi Direct: choose this option to share the selected text by connecting to another Wi-Fi capable device.
  • Choose the required option you wish to use to share the text.
  • The selected text will be sent to another device by using the selected methods.

By knowing how to share the selected text in the web to another device using some methods, now you can share a useful information in the web easily by using one of the available methods as mentioned above.

 How to Search Selected Text on the Web Page

Nowadays, search engine is the main component which is widely use when the people use Internet to search something. By using the search engine, people can find whatever they looking for in the Internet with ease by typing the desired search term in the search engine. Due to its importance, most of browser apps available today provide a feature to automatically search whatever the user typed in the address bar without http or www through the default search engine.

  3. Tap and hold the text until the text select is shown. You can adjust the text selected area by tapping and drag one of the anchor points at the selected text. The text selected will be highlighted.
  4. To search the highlighted text, tap the Menu key located at the top right corner of the screen or next to share icon, then tap Web search.
  5. Now, the result will be displayed in the default search engine. If you set the default to Google search, then the search results will appear in a Google Search page.

This methods of course will also be able to save your time because you can search whatever the highlighted text in the web directly from there, and you don't need to open the search engine page to search for the certain text that you find in the web.

Browser apps is one of the stock applications available in Samsung Galaxy SIII that you can use to meet your daily Internet needs, from browsing the webs, read online magazine, download, etc.

You can get lot of useful information through the Internet because nowadays people share about almost everything in there. In some cases, you may have found something useful from the Internet and wants to keep it on your memo or note. If so, you can do this easily by copying them from the browser then paste them into your memo.


How to copy text in Browser apps?
Kindly follow the steps listed below to do so:
  • Open Browser apps.
  • Navigate to the web page that contain information you wish to copy.
  • Select the required text by tapping and hold the area contains text until the text select is shown.
  • Tap and drag one of the anchor point at the selected text to adjust the selected text area. The selected text area will be highlighted.
  • Tap Copy icon to copy the selected texts.
  • Tap Home button to return to the standby mode.
How to paste copied text to S Memo apps?
Once you've copied text, now you can paste it to another apps. In this case, we will try to paste copied text from the Browser apps to S Memo apps:
  • Go to Apps through Home screen.
  • Scroll to S Memo, then tap it.
  • Tap Create text memo ( T) button located on the upper right corner.
  • Now you can paste copied text to your memo by using one of the steps listed below:
    • Long tap the text field until Paste option is shown, then tap it to paste copied text to your memo.
    • Tap Clipboard icon on the keyboard, then select the required copied text you wish to paste.
  • Finish. You have managed to paste copied text from the Browser apps to your memo.

For the record, this methods also can be applied in another apps, such as Messaging apps, S Planner, Email, etc.

 How to Separate Joined Contacts

Samsung Galaxy SIII has ability to retrieve contacts from various sources. These multiple sources sometimes makes you end up to have duplicate contacts that will make you have difficulty when you want to call them or send message to them, and also this of course will make your phonebook be a mess. Fortunately, there is an option in Contacts apps that will allow you to merge some identical contacts into one.

But, in certain case, you may have joined contacts by mistake or you want to unjoin the contact you've already joined before. If so, you can split them as individual contact by utilizing an option called separate contacts directly through the Contacts apps.

How to split joined contacts?
Kindly follow the steps listed below to do so:
  • Go to Apps through Home screen.
  • Tap Contacts.
  • Tap Contact tab.
  • Tap the required joined contacts you wish to split.
  • Tap the Menu key.
  • On pop up menu select Separate contact.
  • Now you'll see a list of joined contacts that can be separated.
  • Tap the Red minus sign(-) next to the contact to separate this contact.
  • Tap OK button to confirm separation.
  • Finish. Now have managed to unjoin joined contacts.

In addition to separate joined contacts, you can also use this methods to separate contact with multiple numbers.
