Uploading of a Video to Youtube From Gallery or Video Player App in Samsung Galaxy S4

 

If you like sharing your own videos to others by uploading it to Youtube app, you cannot only upload your video directly from the Youtube app, but also from other pre-installed apps (e.g: Gallery app, Video Player app and My Files app) available in your Samsung Galaxy S4 by utilizing the share via option within those apps. As the example, we'll try uploading a video to Youtube app from Gallery app and Video Player app.

How to upload a video to Youtube from the stock Gallery app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the stock Gallery app.
  2. Tap an album where the video you want to upload to Youtube is placed in.
  3. Long tap the required video that you want to upload to Youtube to select it.
  4. Tap at the top of the screen and then tap Youtube.
  5. If needed, you can trim the selected video before uploading it to Youtube.
  6. Now, you can enter the required information for your video in the provided fields:
    • Title: fill this field with the title of the video.
    • Description: fill this field with the descriptions of the video.
    • Privacy: use this option to change the privacy settings of the video. Select Public if you'd like everyone can search and view the video, select Unlisted if you'd like everyone that has the link to the video can view the video, or select Private if you'd like the video can only be seen by you and the users that you select.
    • Tags: fill this field with tags of the video.
  7. Tap at the top left corner of the screen to start uploading the selected video.
  8. Wait until the uploading video progress is completed. When the video has been completely uploaded, the video will be labelled with Ready for watch caption below the video title and you'll be notified with a notification in the status bar or notifications panel.

How to upload a video to Youtube from the stock Video Player app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the stock Video Player app.
  2. By default, the Personal tab will be opened and all of videos in your phone will be displayed here in thumbnail view.
  3. Long tap a thumbnail of the required video that you want to upload to Youtube to select it.
  4. Tap at the top of the screen and then tap Youtube.
  5. If needed, you can trim the selected video before uploading it to Youtube.
  6. Now, you can enter the required information for your video in the provided fields:
    • Title: fill this field with the title of the video.
    • Description: fill this field with the description of the video.
    • Privacy: use this option to change the privacy settings of the video. Select Public if you'd like everyone can search and view the video, select Unlisted if you'd like everyone that has the link to the video can view the video, or select Private if you'd like the video can only be seen by you and the users that you select.
    • Tags: fill this field with tags of the video.
  7. Tap at the top left corner of the screen to start uploading the selected video.

How to upload a video in Youtube app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open Youtube app.
  2. Tap at the top left corner of the screen to open up the Youtube app menus and then tap Uploads.
  3. Tap at the top of the screen.
  4. All videos in the Camera folder will be displayed.
  5. Select the required video you want to upload.
  6. If needed, you can trim the selected video before uploading it.
  7. Now, enter the required information for your video in the provided fields:
    • Title: use this field to enter the title of the video.
    • Description: use this field to enter descriptions of the video.
    • Privacy: use this option to change the privacy settings of the video. Youtube app has a feature that will let you watch videos during periods of low or no connectivity by adding those videos to offline. But, you have to remember that this feature only available if the video's content owners allow such videos offline. Thus, if the owner removes a video's offline availability, the video that you have added to offline may be removed from your device during the next sync.

How to add a video to offline in Youtube app?
Assuming that your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network, you can use the following steps to add a video to offline in Youtube app:
  1. Open Youtube app.
  2. To quickly find a specific video, you can use the search function by using the following steps:
    • Tap at the top of the screen.
    • Enter a keyword and then tap at the keyboard to start searching.
    • If you'd like to watch the video first, tap the preview thumbnail or title of the video from the search results list.
  3. While the video is being played, tap below the video playback to add the video to offline.
  4. Select the quality of the video: Normal-360p or HD-720p and then tap OK button. FYI, a higher quality video may take longer to appear in offline and it may take more space in your phone.
  5. The video will be added to offline and stored in your phone. If your phone loses connectivity during the progress of adding video to offline, the progress will be resumed automatically when you reconnect to a Wi-Fi network. If the video has been completely added to offline, this icon below the video playback will be replaced with this icon as a sign that the video is available for offline access.
  6. If you'd like to cancel the progress of adding video to offline, before the progress is completed, swipe the top of the screen using your finger to open up the notification and then tap Cancel transfer within the add video to offline progress notification.

Youtube app is a Google-related app that can be found in your Samsung Galaxy S4. If you have activated a Google account in your phone, you can use this app to watch videos. But, you have to remember that this activity will use a large amount of data and you may incur large data charges, moreover if you don't have unlimited data plan.


How to watch a video in Youtube app?
You can use Youtube app to watch a video by using the following steps:
  1. Open Youtube app.
  2. What To Watch screen that is contained with two tabs(Home and Music) will be displayed and provide you with a set of related videos from a playlist or channel.
  3. To watch a video, you can either tap a preview thumbnail or tittle of a video from the provided playlist or channel, or you can use the search function to find more specific video by using the following steps:
    • Tap at the top of the screen.
    • Enter a keyword and then tap at the keyboard to start searching.
    • Tap a video from the search result list to watch the video.
  4. While watching a video, you'll be provided with some options:
    • : tap this icon to view the video playback in a small window. While the video is displayed in the small window, tap or flick the window to the top to view the video in full screen, or flick the window to the left to close the video.
    • : tap this icon to add the video playback to your own playlist or to the Watch Later playlist.
    • : tap this icon to share the URL of the video using one of the available share methods, e.g: Messages, Bluetooth, Email, etc.
    • : tap this icon to access additional options of the video(captions, quality, and report).
    • or : tap this icon to pause or resume the video playback.
    • : drag this bar to the left or to the right to move the video forwards or backwards
    • : tap this icon to watch the video playback in full screen. FYI, you can also view the video in full screen by rotating your phone to landscape orientation.

Youtube app is one of Google apps that is available in the Samsung Galaxy SIV. You can use this app to access youtube.com site. As we have known that Youtube is the most popular video sharing websites available today. Below are the steps to do so:
  1. Open the Youtube app.
  2. Tap a preview thumbnail or the title link of a video to view the video.
  3. If you want to watch other video, you can use the search function in this app by tapping the Search icon located at the top right corner of the screen and then enter your search terms.
  4. In the search result list, tap the desired video you want to watch.
  5. While you're watching the video, you'll be given with the following options:
    • : Tap this option to view the video in a small window. While the video is displayed in the small window, tap or flick the small window to the top to return to the previous size(in portrait view) or to view it in full screen(in landscape view) or you can flick the small window to the left to close it.
    • : Tap this option to add the video to the playlist.
    • : Tap this option to share a link to the video using the available share methods.
    • : Tap this option to view more options.
    • : Tap this option to pause or resume playback.
    • Drag the bar in the bottom side of the video to move forwards or backwards.
    • : Tap this option to view the video in full screen. It will also rotate the video in the landscape orientation automatically.
    • : Tap this option to view the video in a small window. This option will be available if you watch the video in the landscape view.

For the record, Youtube is a data-intensive feature that may charges you with large data. So, if you like using this feature, you'd better upgrading your account to a large or unlimited data plan to avoid additional data charge.

 Removing of  Youtube Search History with 2 Easy Ways in Samsung Galaxy S3

      
As we all know that Youtube is the most popular video-sharing website today which will allow the users to upload, view and share their videos with everyone or with certain person only. In Samsung Galaxy SIII you'll find the Youtube app as one of the stock apps. So, if you already activated your Google account on your phone, then you can directly use this app.

By default, Youtube app will record your search histories to helps you more easier to track what you have searched before. But, in certain case you might be don't want the app to do so or you don't want others knows your Youtube search histories. Luckily, there some methods to do so, you can see the two of them as listed below.

First method: Remove search history through the Youtube settings menu
Below are the steps to do so:
  1. Open Youtube app.
  2. Tap the Menu key then select Settings.
  3. Tap Search.
  4. Tap Clear search history option to erase the existing Youtube search histories, and then tap OK button to confirm erasing the histories.
  5. You can also tick the check box next to Never remember history option to tell the app not to remember your search history in the future.
Second method: Remove Youtube search history by clearing the application data
Below are the steps to do so:
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Application manager.
  3. Swipe to the All screen.
  4. Scroll down to find the Youtube app, then tap it.
  5. Tap Clear data button, and then tap OK button to confirm clearing the app data.
For the record, the second methods will only erase the history and once you use the Youtube app to search video then it will start to record your history again. So, if you wish to erase the history and set the app to not record them, then you can use the first method to do so.
